Alcohol Ink Tutorial

Hello!
I bought some Alcohol Inks awhile ago because I thought they were really pretty (that's a bad reason to buy something ; )  I had no idea what to do with them or how to use them.  Last week, I saw a tutorial here on how to use them.  So, I thought it was time to get mine out and try to create with them!  I decided to take pictures as I was making my project, so I could teach others how to use them.  The alcohol inks come in many different colors and you can mix and match until your heart is content : )

To start, make sure to use a craft mat to cover the surface you are working on.  For this card, I used Eggplant and Citrus Alcohol inks, along with Alcohol Blending Solution.  You will also need the Alcohol Ink Applicator and a piece of glossy cardstock.

With the felt pad on the applicator, squirt some of the inks on to the felt, about 5 drops of each color will do.  Then, squirt some of the Alcohol Blending Solution onto the felt pad.

Apply the inks to the paper by dabbing the applicator.  You can keep applying as little or as much as you would like.

I then used the Family Ties die from Memory Box.

Since I only wanted to use the tie and not the bow, I used a wire cutters to separate them.

I then taped the tie to the back of the paper and ran it through my Cuttlebug.

I did that 3 times to cut out 3 ties.

I then taped the glossy paper to some navy blue cardstock.  For the banner, I used a stamp by Kaiser Crafts and Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

I cannot wait to use more of these inks because all of the colors are beautiful.  It is also so much fun to mix and match and make "your own" piece of patterned paper.

Graduation Banner

Hello Friends!

I made this simple banner for my sister and I's graduation party.  It's so much cheaper and very easy to make your own banner instead of buying one.  It also makes the party more personal knowing that you made the decorations yourself.  I used the Alphalicious Cricut cartridge to cut all of the letters, the Locker Talk Cricut cartridge to cut the graduation hats, and my Mother's Day Bouquet to cut the circles behind the hats.
**Don't forget that the Graduation Challenge at the Creative Cutter Room is still going on, so make sure you enter your projects :)

Ingredients:
~Alphalicious, Locker Talk, Mother's Day Bouquet Cricut cartridges
~Coredinations blue and white paper
~White Ribbon

I Graduated!

Hello Friends!

I am very proud to say that I graduated from college yesterday!  It is still very surreal and I cannot believe that I am actually done.  I don't think I am ready to be done because I feel like I could go for another 4 years!  I guess that's what grad school is for though, right?  It was so hot yesterday and I felt like I was melting during the ceremony!  Go figure that the hottest day that we have had this year would be the day that I had to graduate in an arena that is not ait conditioned and be surrounded by around 700 other graduates!!  It also didn't help that the ceremony lasted 3 hours!  It all turned out great though and I survived : )
I will have some graduation projects this week to share with you as I prepare for my sister's graduation party.  Make sure you come back and check those out!
I also got a new camera for my graduation present, so I have been having lots of fun playing with it!

Have a great night!
